His grandpa lived there at Uig, a very small village in the North of Skye. His health was not so good, so Mum decided to help him in his Variety Shop during the summer when tourists arrive on the isle. Last week Willie and Grandpa found an empty bottle on the sandy beach. It contained wine once. Many years ago I found a bottle on the beach with a strange message inside. And it was my luck! , said Grandpa smiling. Willie looked interested in this story: was it a true story or was it a trick? Grandpa understood this village was lonely for a young boy and had a plan to find a new friend for his grandson. So he convinced Willie to put a note inside the bottle. This was the message: Hi, my name is Willie Morrison. I m thirteen years old. I like fishing and swimming. Mum, my sister Ruby and I live with Grandpa at Uig s Variety Shop in the summer. Do you want to be my friend? I live at Uig s Bay, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK. So from that windy day the bottle contained a note and floated away in the ocean. And Willie hoped to find a new friend soon. Waiting for an answer took a lot of patience.
