Le preposizioni by, to, at La preposizione by seguita da un mezzo di trasporto significa per mezzo di : by underground by car in my car/in Sam s car = con la mia auto/con l auto di Sam on foot = a piedi La preposizione italiana a si esprime con: to quando vi è un verbo di movimento She s going to the party. at quando vi è un verbo che non indica movimento Oliver isn t at home. Si dice però: 7 Inserisci nelle frasi le preposizioni by, in, on, at, to a seconda dei casi, come nell esempio: Are you going to London by car? 1. Per domandare quanto tempo ci vuole/ci è voluto per compiere un azione, si usa la seguente struttura impersonale il cui soggetto è sempre it: al presente How long does it take to fly to Paris? It takes two hours. (= Quanto tempo ci vuole per...?) al passato How long did it take to reach London? It took half an hour. (= Quanto tempo ci è voluto per...?) Inoltre, per domandare quale mezzo di trasporto si usa e per dare una risposta, in inglese si dice: How do you get to the station?
