Il genitivo sassone Per indicare a chi appartiene una cosa si usa il genitivo sassone (possessive case). Questa costruzione tipica della lingua inglese non esiste in italiano e richiede: nome del possessore + s Willie s + cosa posseduta senza articolo pet Quando il possessore è espresso da un nome plurale: the girls room the children s books Tom and Wendy s cat se il nome termina in -s, si aggiunge solo l apostrofo se il nome è irregolare, e cioè non termina in -s, si aggiunge s se vi sono più possessori, si aggiunge s solo all ultimo nome Per domandare a chi appartiene una cosa si dice Whose... is this/that? (Di chi è questo/quel...?): Whose umbrella is this/that?
